photo by Lance K. Mertz There aren't many days that KIA will have three 737's on the ground at one time. The Ketchikan Airport ferry MV Oral Freeman will be going into dry-dock for several weeks for work on or around November 1, 2002. The MV Bob Ellis will be operating on the run for this time period. It is not anticipated that it will have any affect on public access to the airport. Under other news, in an effort to minimize the inconvenience to the public and airport tenants the airport ferry will be fueling on a set schedule. Fueling will take place after the ferry leaves the Airport at 2:00 PM each Monday. Based on flight schedules, shift change times and other factors, this appears to be the optimal time and day. The next ferry from the Ketchikan side will be at 2:45 and the next ferry from the airport will be at 3:00 PM.
