The Ketchikan Gateway Borough Assembly will hold a special meeting/work session on Wednesday, June 26, 2002. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm and will be held in the City Council Chambers.

Discussion of agreement between the Ketchikan Gateway Borough, Ketchikan Pulp Company, Gateway Forest Products, and others resolving easement claims in Ward Cove

c. Consideration of further direction for Borough Manager interviews and selection decision

Proposed for consideration by the assembly is an agenda for a June 29th special meeting/work session to be published June 27th.

The purpose of the work session proposed for June 29th will be to interview the following Borough Manager candidates:

Richard Smith
Roy Echert
Kenneth Weaver
James Patrick

An executive session is also proposed for June 27th special meeting/work session to discuss qualifications of the Borough Manager Candidates

Assembly will reconvene after the executive session to formally consider Selection of Borough Manager

4. Executive Session

Procedure - Motion is made and voted upon. If adopted, executive session is held. If necessary, action is taken in public session following the executive session. If there is more than one executive session topic, each topic will be handled completely separate from the other.

a. Request for executive session to discuss Alaska Industrial Development Economic Authority (AIDEA), the Ketchikan Gateway Borough, and the Alaska Ship & Drydock (ASD).

According to the agenda statement, because the discussion involves matters between the borough and AIDEA regarding ASD which may have an adverse effect upon the Borough's finances, an executive session is being requested.
